BHLDN is the wedding branch of Anthropologie and produces some of the most unique and beautiful gowns that don’t break the bank. I remember seeing a friends wedding in college and she tagged BHLDN in her post, and that’s where my obsession with BHLDN began. I continued to keep track of all of the new collections and dreamed of the day that I could get mine.
That day came at the beginning of 2020, I made an appointment the week after I got engaged because we had a quick timeline until we got married. I had to make a list of the dresses I wanted to try on and so I added an assortment of the styles to try on and invited my mother, mother-in-law, and two of my sisters.

I had an INCREDIBLE experience trying on dresses there. It felt like a small boutique and I had a sweet woman working with me who never made me feel pressured in the slightest. She took time to go over my selections before I got there to try and understand me more as a bride.

We worked with either size 4 or 14 depending on what they had which worked out well for me. They would do what they could to make the dress look as close to normal as possible. We switched out different dresses and we were able to grab one more that I didn’t have on my original list… and I’m so glad I did 🙂

I was so nervous about picking my dress, but I couldn’t stop thinking about this dress after I put it on. I was smiling so much and this was the first dress that we decided to try the veil with. I had a feeling that this would be my dress but I didn’t want to make any commitments since this was my first time looking at dresses and I was overwhelmed. I loved that no one at BHLDN made me feel like I had to buy a dress that day, they encouraged me to think about it and come back if I needed to.
BHLDN was by far my favorite place I tried on dresses, I did end up going back to try on my dress again and I was sold the moment I put it back on. That was MY dress!! I worked with another employee to get my dress ordered. They had recommended that I get a size 12 but I had a feeling that a 10 would be better. The employee said that she thought that would be fine, but her recommendation was always to go a little bigger just in case. It ended up that the 12 was already back ordered so that solidified my decision to go with size 10 (which ended up fitting perfectly, so glad I went with my gut)! We took pictures and celebrated, and then I rushed off to the airport to drop off my sister.
My experience at BHLDN was in direct contrast to my experience at David’s Bridal. I didn’t realize how wonderful BHLDN was until I went to David’s Bridal right afterwards…. BUT that’s a story for another time!
XOXO, Caro
