My Story

A lover of girls night, small towns, new hobbies, and creating a vibrant life. Here to encourage and inspire women in their pursuit of abundant life through lifestyle content that feels like it’s from a friend.

Hi, I'm caroline

It’s aesthetic, smells great, and gets crafty… Candle making is all around a good time!

Are you looking for a fun and creative activity to do with your friends and family? Look no further than a candle-making night! This DIY project is not only enjoyable but also incredibly rewarding. You’ll create unique, personalized candles that you can use to brighten up your home or give as thoughtful gifts. (but be warned, you may become addicted to it…)

Here’s a step-by-step guide to hosting a successful candle-making night:

  1. Gather Your Supplies:
    • Candle wax (soy wax, beeswax, or paraffin wax)
    • Wicks (cotton or wood)
    • Candle molds (glass jars, metal tins, or silicone molds)
    • Essential oils* (for scent)
    • Colorants (if desired)
    • Double boiler or saucepan and bowl
    • Thermometer
    • Stirring utensils
    • Safety glasses and gloves (optional)
  2. Prepare Your Workspace:
    • Choose a well-ventilated area where you can make a mess without worrying.
    • Cover your workspace with newspaper or a plastic tablecloth to protect surfaces.
  3. Melt the Wax:
    • Place the wax in the double boiler or saucepan and heat over low heat.
    • Stir the wax occasionally until it’s completely melted and smooth.
  4. Add Color and Scent:
    • Once the wax is melted, add your desired colorants and essential oils. Stir well to combine.
  5. Pour the Wax:
    • Carefully pour the melted wax into your chosen molds. Be sure to leave a small gap at the top for the wick.
  6. Insert the Wick:
    • Center the wick in the mold and secure it with a wick tab or a toothpick.
  7. Let the Candles Cool:
    • Allow the candles to cool completely before removing them from the molds. This may take several hours.

Tips for a Successful Candle-Making Night:

  • Experiment with different scents and colors. Don’t be afraid to get creative!
  • Use a thermometer to monitor the temperature of the wax. Overheating the wax can cause it to burn or discolor. ****AND it can dull the scent of your essential oils!
  • Have fun and enjoy the process. Candle making is a great way to relax and bond with your friends or family.

After your candle-making night, you’ll have beautiful, handmade candles that you can proudly display in your home or give as gifts. Not only will you have created something unique, but you’ll also have had a fun and memorable experience.

So, what are you waiting for? Gather your friends, grab your supplies, and get ready for a night of creativity and fun!
